Celestron’s C5 Spotting Scope

Celestron’s C5 Spotting Scope, featuring a 5″ (127 mm) aperture and 1250 mm f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system, is known for its optical excellence. This versatile Optical Tube Assembly (OTA), often referred to as an OTA, was even selected by NASA for various space shuttle missions.

The C5 spotting scope serves as the perfect choice for avid bird watchers, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking breathtaking views, whether from the comfort of your home or out in the field. Its lightweight, portable design, weighing just six pounds and measuring 11 inches in length, ensures it’s a convenient visual and photographic instrument suitable for diverse viewing locations. Moreover, Celestron offers a wide range of optional accessories to enhance the capabilities of this remarkable Optical Tube Assembly (OTA).

When paired with an astronomical mount, this telescope transforms into an excellent tool for stargazing, offering high-magnification views in a compact-sized Optical Tube Assembly (OTA).

With a 5″ aperture, the C5 easily outperforms smaller spotting scopes. It boasts 4½ times more light-gathering capability than a 60 mm spotting scope and 2½ times more than an 80 mm scope, making Celestron’s C5 the clear choice when seeking a powerful instrument for delivering brilliant, crisp views.

The C5 spotting scope stands out for its versatility, with a near focus of approximately 20 feet that allows effortless observation of plant life, wildlife, birds, or insects. Simultaneously, the C5 can double as an astronomical telescope. Furthermore, the C5 seamlessly transitions from a high-performance spotting scope to a 1250 mm f/10 telephoto lens.

For photography enthusiasts, the C5 is designed to be fully camera adaptable. Achieving professional-quality shots with the C5 is a breeze; simply attach the appropriate optional T-Adapter and T-Ring for your 35 mm SLR camera to the back of the Optical Tube Assembly (OTA), and you’re ready to capture stunning images. The tripod adapter block on the C5’s tube makes it easy to mount the Optical Tube Assembly (OTA) onto a tripod for both viewing and photography. The C5 comes complete in its own soft-sided carrying case. Please note that to use this telescope, you’ll need either a camera tripod or an astronomical mount, and we can assist you in selecting the correct option.
