Fifteen years after releasing the innovational Cube^TM AZ/EQ GoTo mount, the iOptron SkyHunter portable mount with iPolar takes the next step toward perfection. It is the lightest and most compact full function portable goto mount in iOptron’s exceptional history. Weighing in at only 2.9 lbs (including internal rechargeable battery), the SkyHunter portable mount is capable of supporting an 11 lbs (5 Kg) payload in both equatorial and alt-azimuth modes. The iOptron SkyHunter portable mount with iPolar features four tracking rates, 1X or sidereal, 1/2X for sky and landscape combined, solar and lunar. All 4 tracking rates work in both northern and southern hemispheres. The iOptron SkyHunter mount can be controlled by an iOS or Android SmartPhone/tablet, an optional 8410 hand controller, or a computer via ASCOM, INDI or embedded drive, it also has built in WiFi capability. Using the built in WiFi it is possible to control the mount fully via the popular SkySafari mobile application. This mount provides the ultimate convenience for travel providing imaging capability as well as simple visual use in AZ or alt-azimuth mode, further more, with full Go-To capability it greatly simplifies use especially if you travel to a part of the sky with unfamiliar skies.
