Introducing the 130mm f/2.8 HNT Hyperbolic Newtonian Astrograph telescope OTA
Sharpstar has created this amazingly fast Newtonian telescope Optical Tube Assembly (OTA) with an F-ratio of f2.8! This Newtonian telescope for astrophotography will allow you to take very sharp images in record time. We have limited time in which to capture images, why waste your time with slow f-ratios that require long exposures to achieve the same result?
The 13028HNT astrograph telescope, with a hyperbolic primary mirror, produces round and sharp stars within the full-frame and supports 44mm image circle. Compared with the focal ratio of f/4, 13028HNT can attain the same image quality while save almost half of the exposure time. An f2.8 telescope when compared to an f6.5 telescope of the same aperture will achieve the same exposure level in one fifth the time!
The primary mirror is made of Pyrex-alike glass PZ33. The thermal expansion coefficient is smaller than ordinary glass. The dielectric multilayer coating gives the primary mirror a high reflectivity of up to 97%. The minor axis of the secondary mirror is 65mm, enabling sufficient illumination for full-frame imaging. The corrector has been redesigned to a two-refractive-lens set, one of which is an ED glass, aiming to simplify the optical system while enhancing the aberration correction capability.
The Newtonian telescope OTA tube is made of high-end carbon fiber material, so the weight of the astrograph telescope is lessened significantly, and the overall appearance is very appealing. All the metal components are CNC constructed metals. The pair of tube rings has been designed specifically to reduce weight and thus reducing load on your telescope mount. This has been achieved by removing material through the careful placement of holes all around the rings without compromising rigidity.
The focuser is a 2.5″ of rack-and-pinion design. It’s equipped with coarse and fine adjustment knobs to improve the focusing precision. The focuser is tapped with M63 thread which can be switched into a more general M48×0.75 thread with an adapter ring (included). This gives the users a wider range of options for connecting other astronomy accessories to the focuser. The back-focus is standard 55 mm (starting from the base of the mounting thread on the adapter ring’s housing), which is perfect for most cameras. every feature of this focuser is perfect for use on an astrograph telescope.
A versatile handle and a standard Vixen-style dovetail plate are also included in the 13028HNT Newtonian telescope OTA package, which is compatible with most equatorial mounts and offers enough rigidity for this lite weight telescope.
When choosing an astrograph telescope, we highly recommend that you consider this the 13028HNT from Sharpstar. It is a well-rounded instrument at an affordable price point that is 20% lower than the nearest competitor of same optical design.
